Elon Musk is worried that WWIII will interrupt his plans for Mars

It’s safe to say that World War II would cause a lot of problems, not the least of which is the interruption of Elon Musk’s plans for Mars. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Musk expressed his belief that another World War is definitely a real possibility, and that it would be “far worse” than any war the world has ever seen. He also predicted that the world may see a global anti-technology movement in the future, and that both of these things could seriously hinder the progression of science and technology, including his own plans to explore…

This service will end your unwanted relationships for you

Sometimes, becoming successful isn’t about doing things better than your competition, it’s about finding a market that nobody else has thought to enter, that way you don’t have any competition. Brothers Evan and Mackenzie Keast definitely seem to understand this, as they’ve launched a service known as the Breakup Shop, which offers users a variety of ways to end their unwanted relationships without having to do it themselves.  Breaking up with someone is never easy, but would you ever do it through Snapchat? Four people already…

Spotify has a baffling amount of songs about Microsoft

Anyone who’s been on YouTube for long enough will know that people will make songs about ANYTHING, so it’s not all that surprising that some artists have song about Microsoft on Spotify. What is surprising, however, is how many of these songs there are. Spanning across numerous genres and performed by both men and women, there’s a baffling amount of Microsoft-themed songs on Spotify, some of which are surprisingly good.  How many more times must we hear another lousy song about love? The genre is wildly over-represented, so let…

Twitch tried to install Arch Linux, but accidentally installed Gentoo

Don’t you just hate it when you’re trying to install Arch Linux, but then you accidentally end up installing Gentoo? Yeah, I don’t think anyone has ever had that problem until Sunday, when Twitch’s ludicrous attempt to collaboratively install Arch Linux by using crowd-sourced commands was hijacked by a botnet, which proceeded to derail everything and tried to install Gentoo instead. The botnet was eventually defeated, and Twitch has returned to installing Arch Linux. A group which calls itself Twitch in the Shell embarked on…

North Korea is trying to create its own startup scene

From the Fertile Crescent that is Silicon Valley, to the vibrant middle powers of London and Tel Aviv, to the emerging unknowns of Lagos and Nairobi, there are startup scenes in hundreds of cities across the globe. One place you’d never expect to find a startup scene, however, is North Korea, but with the blessing of the country’s almighty government, a group of a dozen or so North Koreans are working to change that. The group has been travelling across Southeast Asia with the intention of learning how startup life works, and how…

Tinder had a bit of a meltdown on Twitter last night

It’s common for tech companies to be targeted by journalists, and how these companies react to the oftentimes negative articles that’re written about them says a lot them. Some of these companies choose to downplay the articles while others like to simply ignore them, and then there’s Tinder, which decided to have a meltdown own Twitter where it posted several dozen angry tweets in response to an article published to Vanity Fair by Nancy Jo Sales. Tinder’s Twitter feed read like a letter from a scorned lover Tuesday, as the dating…

Meeting Elon Musk was one of the best days of Lana Del Rey's life

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned Elon Musk and Lana Del Rey in the same sentence, mainly because there’s pretty much nothing linking the two, but apparently meeting Musk was one of the best days in Del Rey’s life. While she’s mentioned their meeting in the past, she didn’t talk about how much she enjoyed the experience until a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1. This afternoon, Lana Del Rey premiered her newest single from the upcoming Honeymoon, “High by the Beach,” alongside an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1. It was a rare…
