There have been many rumors and leaks surfacing over the past few months leading up to the launch of the iPhone 4G. Well, there is another little snippet of info for fanboys, and this time it comes straight from the source. In an interview with Digitimes, Apple’s senior analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple has two next generation iPhones in development; one of these phones being the iPhone 4 prototype whose pictures were released prematurely on Gizmodo, the other being a less updated version to play backup to the latter. “Apple actually has another product codenamed N91 for the project,…

Wired's iPad App Goes Live

Wired has finally released an iPad-friendly version of its magazine (iTunes link), and early indications are that it’s pretty damn good. There was a brief snafu where Condé Nast worked with Adobe to build the prototype application using AIR, an Adobe framework which is banned from Apple’s iPhone and iPad. Now the app has been rejigged, and Wired has released its first ever digital edition of their printed magazine. Advertisers have been offered premium spots in the digital app, allowing interaction and animation. Advertisers include GE, Olympus, Fidelity Investments and HBO. The app costs…

Dell Streaks To Catch Up to iPad

Dell has made its entry into the tablet market official today and we can now expect to see the 3G enabled smartphone and tablet in the UK as early as June and later this summer in the US. Dell formally announced the device today on their official company blog. Boasting a 5 inch touch screen, the Streak will be almost half the size of Apple’s 9.7 inch iPad. “I’ve been at Dell for 16 years, and I don’t think there’s ever been more buzz around a single Dell product than this,” wrote Lionel Menchaca, chief blogger for the Round Rock, Tex., company. “In my view, that’s for good reason. Hardware and design-wise,…

Engadget has declared that this is not a rumor anymore. A trusted source dropped the ball and confirmed that the new front facing camera spied in those photos from Vietnam will be used in a commercial featuring a mother and daughter having a video chat conversation. The iPhone 3GS to Replace the 3G at Discount Prices

As new technology is in the pipeline to be released, the old will be reduced to taking a cost cut and being displayed on Walmart shelves. The iPhone 3GS has been called to replace this spot previously held by the iPhone 3G and hits US stores today. The massive chain store will begin selling Apple’s 16GB 3GS iPhone this week for a cool $97, which will cost roughly the same amount as Apple’s 8GB 3G iPhone; although, there is a rumor being passed around that Apple will be discontinuing the 3G, which was originally released in 2008. The new deal from Walmart will still require iPhone hopefuls to sign up…

Jobs Teases The Apple Faithful Over WWDC 2010 Keynote

Jobs Teases The Apple Faithful Over WWDC 2010 Keynote

Predictably, Steve Jobs has been announced as the Keynote speaker for this year’s WWDC conference to be held on June 7th, and the natural showman is already hard at work building suspense for the big day. Jobs is famous for allegedly responding to emails sent to his personal address, and the latest response indicates that Jobs doesn’t intend to let Google steal Apple’s thunder. Mac Rumors reader Bryan Webster sent Jobs an email, encouraging Apple to outdo Google, and received a characteristically brief yet poignant response. “You won’t be disappointed.” Despite Gizmodo publishing information…

Apple's WWDC: WWSJD?

Here it comes, folks – WWDC kicks off on June 7th, and Steve Jobs will be there to explode the event himself with an opening keynote. With the iPhone 4G already well-documented, we can only ponder what sort of fresh tricks Big Steve will produce from the inky black sleeves of his turtleneck. Then again, it’s Jobs – he’s not in the habit of disappointing. Personally, I’m begging for a new iPod Classic. Fat chance. I’d tell you to check out WWDC, but the event sold out in eight days this year; apparently, that’s a record or something. Either way, Most of you’ll have to be content to read about it from the comfort…

Pics of iPhone 4G With White Front Panel Leaked

No new details on the new iPhone 4G, but some sweet pictures previewing what may possibly be a white front. A Taiwanese website, Apple.pro, posted the photos this weekend. Does this represent a move by Apple to break away via design and color from all the other smartphones bursting onto the market? Are they trying to incorporate the Mac classic white into the iPhone design? At this point, it’s all speculation. What are your thoughts on the potential new iPhone 4G design? Break them out in our comments section. Source: Apple Insider…

Apple's Chicken and Gizmodo's Egg: The Ethics of the iPhone 4G Mess

Every once in a while, the tech world undergoes something like a defining moment. The Apple-Gizmodo saga was one of those. It has been chatted about so much online that to try and recap the entire kerfuffle would be pointless. Yet, at the same time, less attention has been paid to that always-difficult question of ‘what it all means’. After all, what happened was that the mentality one of the biggest tech blogs around ran smack into the mindset of one of the biggest tech companies. On Gizmodo’s side were the ideals of journalism; on Apple’s the notions of law and order and corporate secrecy. For weeks…

Is AutoCAD really coming to the Mac?

Is AutoCAD really coming to the Mac?

AutoCAD coming back to the Macintosh platform? It seems as though the first screen shots have been leaked. AutoCAD, a design and drafting application, has been associated with the PC in the past but it looks like the developers are finally acknowledging that many creatives in the industry would rather work in a Macintosh environment. Screenshots are available over at the Apple Lounge. Source: MacRumors.com…
