With the impending US launch of Apple’s iPad, analysis and chatter has reached – well, fevered picth doesn’t even begin to cover it. Every technology-focused outlet I know of is talking about the device, and even the mainstream media is obsessed with it too. It was on Letterman for crying out loud. The makers of the Smart car have now created an iPhone application designed for cars that will allow users to turn their iPhone into a useful device while people are driving down the highway. The point of this iPhone application — supposedly called “Smart” — is to provide access to critical tasks you would need to perform in a car, and it provides an interface useful for drivers (big buttons, easy to use navigation, etc). …

Hey, did you catch the latest episode of Modern Family, that totally hip sitcom that rocks? No? Yeah, me neither. And now, I probably never will. Rule of thumb is that sitcoms tend to blow chimps by the herd, and last night the ABC turd made a legendary example of itself by becoming a 30-minute shameless commercial for the iPad. I don’t even know what to say about this. I’m a big fan of well-designed advertisements, but this is embarrassing and uncomfortable, even to watch alone. In an attempt to reach new heights in the field of stating the obvious, an analyst today announced that Apple is selling every iPad it can manufacture, and that previous estimates for demand might have underestimated the iPad’s appeal. Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster, frequent speaker on Apple’s products and financial standing,  believes Apple will sell between 200,000 and 300,000 iPads in it’s debut weekend and, similarly to the iPhone and iPod, should sell out at a large percentage of retail outlets.
