Graphics so good, they

Graphics so good, they'll fool your Facebook friends

I did a bad thing the other day. My son showed me a video (below) of an enhanced variation of Skyrim, the popular video game that has kids and adults alike addicted to a strange fantasy world. It isn’t just the nearly-unlimited potential that the game offers to players. It’s also the amazing graphics, and the ones enhanced in the video below fooled even my Facebook friends. We took a screenshot and posted it on Facebook and Google+. I wanted to see if anyone would notice that the image (the one above) was computer generated rather than a real photograph. If anyone noticed, they didn’t call me out. In fact,…

Branding nostalgia: how your brand logo SHOULD work

Branding nostalgia: how your brand logo SHOULD work

Take a ride down any major road in America and you’re bound to find at least one of the following; a post office, a pizza place, or even a McDonald’s. Any successful business has gotten to where they are because of three major factors, product, business structure, and a solid corporate identity – in this case, a strong, easily recognizable logo. Corporate identity can make or break a business almost as easily as its product or business structure. When I’m stuck at work and want to order a pizza, I immediately think Dominos. It’s just that simple. Simple is a key term to remember here, because the more…

Yes please, I want a Treepee!

Oh what it would be like to be young again… jumping in bouncy castles, on trampolines and swinging off that gigantic tree in the backyard… Kid’s today are swamped with their schedules from ballet to kick boxing and then off to playing video games; that not too many actually spend the time outdoors doing the things we did as a kid. …

Say what, an Instagram cam?

Say what, an Instagram cam?

Tis’ true my friends, hipsters and photographers of the world, soon we will be able to use a tiny camera that mimics the photo-sharing social sites logo and of course in retro style it will be a Polaroid instant camera. Although the only resemblance to the Polaroid will be the insta-picture since this is 2012 and we like things a little more digitized. There will be a screen to view the picture prior to taking the shot yet the Polaroid picture will look like it is seen on Instagram with your instagram name and avatar and enabling you the ability to add a personal touch at the bottom (put your permanent…

This LED pillow mimics the Nintendo star

This LED pillow mimics the Nintendo star

Just looking at this photo, I can hear the music that would play when you stumbled across a star in Nintendo’s Mario series. Music from games sum up my childhood, especially when it involves my favorite plumber, so when I saw this pillow I automatically was thrown back into the early 90’s with a smile on my face. …

The keyboard that loves to be washed

The keyboard that loves to be washed

As we sit in front of our computers, below our resting fingers is a cesspool of germs. Our keyboards collect everything our hands touch, collects food debris and any dust that is within the air. We don’t like to think of it often, well, until we are about to touch a public computer, then we might think twice. Even though we may take a wipe to it now and again, is it really enough to say that it is clean? …
