Google is now rolling out subtle changes to their look and feel and site updates to some regions. Google, well known for their simple homepage and only minor, occasional revisions have been experimenting with slight changes to their logo and the layout of their search pages. The new logo uses brighter colours with a less emphasized bevel and drop shadow. Looks like Google might be bigger than we thought it was. The photo above is from Intac and is a visual portrayal of the exact number of devoted servers that major tech companies own. This diagram allows you to get a clear image of how much larger some of these servers are than others. If you just heard the numbers, like 100,000 for Intel and between 20,000 and 30,000 for Facebook and AT&T, you would just think of them as an interesting fact and nothing more. Google takes on the world’s governments today, publishing details about how often countries around the world ask it for user data or instruct it to censor information. The data is available using Google’s newly-introduced Government Requests Tool (illustrated above). Interestingly, Brazil took the top of the list with 3,663 data requests the US took second place with 3,580 and the UK came in third with 1,166 such requests.
