On June 7, 2010, Apple Inc is set to host their annual developers conference. It is anticipated that during this year’s conference, the newest version of the massively popular iPhone will be revealed. BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion has introduced its first promo video pushing what’s positive inside the future BlackBerry 6 OS, set to ship in Q3. It’s an incredibly busy presentation, but you do get to see some album cover-based music navigation, an onscreen (virtual) keyboard, Facebook and Twitter clients, and a quick glance at the new WebKit-based browser. Nokia today took the wraps of its most strategically important product designed to take on the iPhone and Blackberry in the smartphone market, the unibody Nokia N8. The N8 is the first Nokia phone to run Symbian 3 software and won’t ship until the third quarter. Features of the $493 device aren’t bad – a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon Flash, a 3.5-inch HD touchscreen and HD video capture along with video editing tools. Starting today, Israel is reversing its ban on Apple’s iPad. The device was previously banned amid questions of the devices compliance with Israel’s laws and requirements for wireless power output. Israel’s Minister of Communications stated that after intensive technical scrutiny, the device would no longer be confiscated by customs officials. “Starting Sunday we will begin allowing iPads into the country” said Moshe Kakhlon. The ban was based on suspicions that the iPad interfered with the wireless capability of other equipment. The Ministry also authorized the release of twenty iPads…

Pioneer announced their new line of Blu-ray players yesterday. These new models are exactly the same as older versions, except for one new detail. The new line is now able to be controlled with an app on your iPhone or  iPod Touch. Along with Pioneer’s free iControlAV app, users can connect to their network and control the device’s many functions. This new feature is basically the same as using a remote control, but with a modern twist. Remotes get lost in the couch or deprogrammed. Adobe has ceased development of its tools to export Flash content into a format suitable for the iPhone. “We will still be shipping the ability to target the iPhone and iPad in Flash CS5,” said Adobe’s Mike Chambers. “However, we are not currently planning any additional investments in that feature.” Apple CEO Steve Jobs has previously slammed Adobe as “lazy” and Flash as unsuitable for use on mobile devices. Strong iPhone and Mac sales and the continued dominance of Apple’s iPod drove the company to deliver a new record March quarter in revenue and profit. Admitting these results, chief operating officer Tim Cook also confirmed iPad sales so far have “shocked” company execs. Asked how the iPad compares to netbooks, Cook said, “To me, it’s a no-brainer.
