8 methods to speed up the blogging process

Blogging can become time consuming and a bit overwhelming. Researching and gathering information to include in a post, then having to actually sit down and write it can take time you just don’t have. Organization plays a major role in writing high-quality content, fast and easy. …

Use infographics to keep your website visitors interested

It is important to keep your blog readers and website visitors interested in the information you share. Coming up with creative and eye-catching ways to grab the attention of online users is extremely crucial in having people visit and return to your site. Infographics are a great way to visually share data on a website or blog and they will keep your community interested in what you post. This infographic from Diyblogger comes to us via Used Cars Long Island and explores “The Infographic Life Cycle”. Click to enlarge. Hat Tips: Kia Vallejo…

YouTube founders relaunch Delicious

YouTube founders relaunch Delicious

The founders of YouTube have begun to breathe new life into social-bookmarking site Delicious. Delicious was just relaunched, combining new features and a new look with classic functionality. YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steven Chen purchased Delicious from Yahoo in April with the goal of bringing the site to a broader audience. Although the relaunched service is very similar to the previous site, a few new features have been added to help users bookmark, find, and share content from around the Web. The new service is just as easy to use as before, and largely functions in the exact same way….

Apple Rolls Out Subscription Service on App Store for Content Publishers

Apple Rolls Out Subscription Service on App Store for Content Publishers

Apple rolled out a subscription service today that will allow publishers to put their content on apps and charge for them through the App Store. The subscription billing service is based upon what they and News Corp have done with The Daily. By applying the App Purchases billing system to a content subscription model, publishers will be able to set prices and lengths of subscriptions and offer them to consumers at various levels of commitment. By putting it all in a centralized location specific to content publishers, users will be able to manage and monitor all of their subscriptions at once….

The Rise and Fall of Bookmarking the Web

The Rise and Fall of Bookmarking the Web

Digg it, Like it, star it, favorite it, or bookmark it — that’s what many of us do when we see something we enjoy on the Web. But will that piece of content ever be viewed again? Probably not. Sadly, we rarely take advantage of our bookmark collection. It will eventually become a digital junk pile. So is it time for the bookmark to die? Perhaps it is time for the bookmark to evolve. As someone who views hundreds of articles, images, and videos on a daily basis — almost to the point of driving me towards insanity — the task of saving this content to take advantage of it at a later time has always overwhelmed…

Infinite USB? Right On! And on, and on, and on...

Infinite USB? Right On! And on, and on, and on...

The word ‘infinite’ is pretty versatile – infinite wisdom, infinite kung fu, infinite shrimp buffet. It’s a buzz word, and one that can make one stand in awe of whatever it is making a claim of infinity. Infinitec has it in their goddamn company name, so it stands to reason they’re hoping your aforementioned sense of awe will extend to all their products. Enter the Infinite USB Drive, a device whose description sounds too good to be true. The USB drive in my pocket as I write this has 8 gigs, and every time I need to transfer a season of Star Trek it seems it’s always 8.1. Infinite space certainly would be…

Google Gets a Caffeine Injection

Google Gets a Caffeine Injection

No one ever knocked Google for not keeping up to date. Despite only indexing, like, one a month, I’ve always been pretty impressed with how well Google organizes the web. But what do I know? Apparently, that’s not nearly fast enough. To keep up with the modern tide of user content (I guess ‘tsunami’ is more appropriate), Google has rolled out Caffeine, a new indexing system which updates layers of content continually, resulting in an up-to-the-minute web. “Our old index had several layers, some of which were refreshed at a faster rate than others; the main layer would update every couple of weeks,”…

Sorry RIAA, MPAA: The Pirate

Sorry RIAA, MPAA: The Pirate's Boat Will Stay Afloat

The entertainment industry has embarked in an all-out war against piracy around the globe, with the hopes of scaring would-be pirates from illegally obtaining digital media. But if the likes of the MPAA and RIAA plans on sinking the ship that millions sail throughout the Internet, they should think again. The primary target for the entertainment industry, as it would seem, has been The Pirate Bay. It is far more than a website that enables users to acquire digital content of both legal and illegal variety. It is a symbol. It is a powerful message that the entertainment industry hates but many people,…

Video Games: Too Little and Too Simple

Video Games: Too Little and Too Simple

Completely engrossed in the action and strategy, I clicked the “turn” button just one more time, eyes barely managing to stay open even at the clock’s chirp of 4 AM, with only three hours until school started. Mere moments later, the other player had overrun my capital city and second largest city. Disgusted at this move and hungry for revenge, I sent every single attack unit to the rescue, saving my cities from this dastardly enemy player. Finally, with my renewed vigor, I marched all my armies to the enemy and took over all of its cities, showing no mercy for their unfound attacks on my territory….
