Decent news is bad news for Facebook stocks
They can’t win, lately. Facebook exceeded expectations by a smidgen by posting $1.18 billion in revenue. Wall Street expected $1.15 billion. The $0.12 earnings per share was exactly what Wall Street anticipate. For most companies, matching expectations would be a good thing, setting a precedent of predictability early on and showing that the experts can call the numbers accurately. For Facebook, it didn’t seem to help as after-hours trading pushed the share price below $25, a dip of over 10%.
