Shut Your Clam - iPad Case Goes Old School

If you’re on of the one million people who purchased an iPad, you probably planned to buy either a case, a keyboard or both. The Clamcase solves all your iPad-related woes by providing both. Demand for this uber-accessory was so high yesterday that the company site was knocked offline. The company is sending users to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube while they prepare their servers for higher demand. The Clamcase “magically” turns your iPad into a full laptop, with bluetooth keyboard and full hinged casing. The Facebook page doesn’t offer a price, but in the discussions page the price of $75 is mentioned….

iPad Destroyed In The Name of.. Well, Nothing

iPad Destroyed In The Name of.. Well, Nothing

Following the wacky trend of destroying expensive equipment for little or no good reason, a couple of genii have decided to turn an iPad into a skateboard. At $500 and a size of roughly 8″ x 11″, even I’m gnarly enough to know that the iPad makes a better tablet PC than skateboard, but I guess these guys aren’t interested in creating Keynote presentations or sharing files on Dropbox. Part of Fuel TV’s Built To Shred series, host Jeff King and pro skater Chad Knight destroy the iPad in seconds in the name of.. skateboarding insanity. Cringe as they drill a hole right through the screen. Shudder as they…

So, I’m a geek, my wife’s a geek and we’re engaged in bringing up a new generation of geeks, and that’s why we’re really pleased to have come across this really rather useful Baby Monitor and Alarm app for the iPhone. What it does? It does it all, really. It will monitor noise in the room of your sleeping child and send an SMS message…

iPad Logic: Why You Need The Dropbox App

iPad Logic: Why You Need The Dropbox App

If you’re one of those new million iPad owners then you need to know about Dropbox for iPad. This free app is the missing link if you want to use your iPad for some light business. It works with the online Dropbox service, which offers you 2.2GB of free online storage. That storage syncs with your Mac or PC’s Home directory – where all your data sits – so you get access to all your most important files from wherever you happen to be. Dropbox on the iPad/iPhone/iPod touch lets you access those files. Better, if you have the right app it lets you open and work on those files. You can open a PowerPoint presentation…

Microsoft may recently have scrapped its plans for the Microsoft Courier device, but that doesn’t mean the company is out of the tablet computing game, company chairman, Bill Gates, told FOX. Microsoft chairman Gates and billionaire investor (and friend of Gates) Warren Buffet were in conversation about the economy, technology, Apple and more. Gates observes his company doesn’t intend to cede the tablet computing market without a fight, despite the cancellation of Courier, “Microsoft has a lot of different tablet projects that we’re pursuing,” he said. “We think that work with…

28 Days Later: iPad Turns 1 Million Users Into Zombies

Well, that was quick. Apple has announced that it sold it’s millionth iPad this past Friday, after only 28 days on the market. Said Stevie “Wonder” Jobs: “One million iPads in 28 days—that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone. Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.” Magical, huh? So you mean, like, necromancy, right Steve? Perhaps hypnotism? In addition, users have already syphoned their money into Apple’s hands to the tune of 12 million iPad apps. One million…

Israel Now Welcoming The iPad

Israel Now Welcoming The iPad

Starting today, Israel is reversing its ban on Apple’s iPad. The device was previously banned amid questions of the devices compliance with Israel’s laws and requirements for wireless power output. Israel’s Minister of Communications stated that after intensive technical scrutiny, the device would no longer be confiscated by customs officials. “Starting Sunday we will begin allowing iPads into the country” said Moshe Kakhlon. The ban was based on suspicions that the iPad interfered with the wireless capability of other equipment. The Ministry also authorized the release of twenty iPads…

Alan Kay Notebook Guru Takes Scratch To Apple

He may have predicted that Apple’s iPad would ‘rule the world’, but the man who invented the notebook concept isn’t happy with Steve Jobs at the moment. Alan Kay is one of the great heroes of the technological revolution we’re still experiencing today. So much so that when Apple introduced the iPad, Jobs took pains to send Kay one as a personal gift. But it isn’t the product that Kay has a problem with – it’s Apple’s determination to control what developers do with it. Apple last week changed the terms of its deal with developers, introducing new clauses which forbid iPhone apps from…
