Want iPhone 5 Rumors? You Got

Want iPhone 5 Rumors? You Got 'Em!

It’s another day in the tech world, and, as one would expect, that means there are more Apple rumors being spread throughout the Internet. There are quite a few (three, to be exact). With the iPhone 5 rumored to be a heavily upgraded device, any of these are a possibility, but some of them have even shocked me. The first rumor is that Apple is working on an “iPhone Nano,” which would be produced in tangent with the iPhone 5. There are a vast amount of reasons why I think this would be a horrible idea, but the fact remains that it could come true. This version of the iPhone has been rumored to work on several networks,…

As Apple Feels the Heat, A Cheaper iPhone is Coming

As Apple Feels the Heat, A Cheaper iPhone is Coming

On the heels of the Microsoft/Nokia deal and with Android making tremendous strides in sales, Apple is planning on releasing a cheaper version of the iPhone this summer, WSJ is reporting. Sources close to the matter say that the new version would be much smaller – about half the size of the current iPhone 4 – and will offer a lighter array of services similar to the less-expensive variations of Android phones. This would open up the market to lower-income users as well as those who simply do not need a full suite of mobile features. For the last couple of years, Apple has been trending towards a broader…

The Garage-Built Gadget Every iPhone Video Addict Needs

The Garage-Built Gadget Every iPhone Video Addict Needs

Every now and then, an idea comes along that springs from a garage and turns into gold. Such will hopefully be the case for the Satarii Star Accessory, a truly innovative idea that makes one wonder, “Why didn’t Apple build this already?” The idea is simple: a base that rotates 360 degrees to follow someone or something, allowing a mounted camera or smartphone to capture video without an unsteady hand at the helm. By using a hand-held or mountable marker, the base follows the target to create a steady video. The applications are limitless. Parents can take videos of their children playing while actually…

Telus to Unlock iPhones in Canada

Telus to Unlock iPhones in Canada

Those of the Frozen North, rejoice – Telus has introduced a new unlock policy that will unlock a GSM handset for the comparatively paltry $50! Beginning February 15th, Canucks who have spent a minimum of 90 days under contract to Telus can bring in their handset for a little unlock action (Rogers, though already offering this service, requires a user fulfill the entirety of his or her contract first). Perhaps the best part of all this? The service will soon include the iPhone itself. While the service doesn’t break one’s contract with Telus, it can still be useful while you wait for your contract…

Turn Your iPod Touch Into a Phone Using Its Own Packaging

Turn Your iPod Touch Into a Phone Using Its Own Packaging

You thought you were on the cutting edge of geek chic with that iPhone 4. You ain’t seen nothing yet. A Lifehacker reader known only as Kevin has taken an iPod Touch and, using a VOIP application and a pair of headphones, has rigged it all together using the device’s own packaging. A big of smoothing here and there (plastic edges are sharp, yo) and a rubber washer later, and voila – a DIY iPhone that’s sure to impress… er… somebody, surely. At the very least, it’s a conversation piece! …

Verizon's Knockout Punch: Unlimited Data for iPhone

It was never quite certain when Verizon would get its hands on the iPhone, but we recently learned that it would on February 10. The only question remaining was how much the plans were going to be to have the iPhone. Now we have that answer too: $30 per month. But the news here is that this pricing will be for unlimited data, which could prove that — while two iPhones are better than one — two iPhones are somewhat different from each other. AT&T’s data pricing per month for DataPlus and DataPro is currently 200MB for $15 and 2GB for $25, respectively. The plans are more aggressively priced, but…

And So, The Verizon iPhone Hype Begins

And So, The Verizon iPhone Hype Begins

We knew it was coming. If anything, it may have started later than most predicted. The Verizon iPhone hype is here. When it was first announced that the Verizon iPhone was near, we all knew that these two marketing masters would turn it into something bigger than it is. A carrier picking up an old product is normally not newsworthy… that is unless it’s these two giants. Now that we’re waiting, Verizon has decided to advertise just how agonizing the wait really is for many people. …

Vyne: The Best iPhone Stand You Can

Vyne: The Best iPhone Stand You Can't Buy

The iPhone is getting all the attention today, so why not feature yet another product that could eventually lead to the iPhone being more flexible than ever before. This one is a stand, but it isn’t what you would expect. Vyne, which is a concept design, is an iPhone stand that proves its worth not only in its flexibility but also with its functionality. You can use it as a simple desk stand or you could wrap it around your neck and have it hold your iPhone in front of your face for maximum distraction while walking. It utilizes a plastic connector to connect the hold the iPhone in place while it is attached…

Buying Into The Verizon iPhone and Weighing The Options

Buying Into The Verizon iPhone and Weighing The Options

The Verizon iPhone is upon us, so now it is our job to let you know all the details so you can make an informed decision. For most, this might not be a hard decision at all, but for the rest, we are here to help. The Verizon iPhone will be available for pre order on February 3. Current Verizon Wireless customers will be able to get in on the fun before anyone else. Then on February 10, the iPhone will be available to everyone.  It will cost you $199 for the 16GB version and $299 for the 32GB version, along with the two-year Verizon Wireless contract. And from what we gather so far, data pricing will remain the…

It's Official: Verizon and Apple Announce CDMA iPhone

It might have been a few years in the making. It might have even been a few years too long in the waiting. But none of that matters anymore. Verizon has officially announced that it will be teaming up with Apple to bring a CDMA version of the iPhone on its networks next month. Millions are expected to be sold already. And there are already a few differences that have become apparent. What we know so far is that this will be a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 (so no iPhone 5 here quite yet). This also means that it will not run on Verizon’s highly touted LTE network, which the company has been pushing hard, even at this…

iPhone 3GS Now Available for a Paltry Sum: $49

iPhone 3GS Now Available for a Paltry Sum: $49

If you’ve always wanted an iPhone but have been too intimidated by its gargantuan price, now could be the time, as Apple has begun selling the 3GS for a mere pittance: forty nine dollars. And this ain’t no temporary sale – Apple has added this to the official fluff on its website. $49 will totally get you an iPhone 3GS. For keepsies. And that’s pretty radical. But the catch? Well, that would be that this phone is, again, the iPhone 3GS – and it’s only available at this price with a 2-year contract – so to partake in this cheap telephony means you miss out on the iPhone 5. Considering some people are still stubbornly…

Hints of the Verizon iPhone Launch Point to Early February

Hints of the Verizon iPhone Launch Point to Early February

Could it be? As most of the tech world is huddled around various devices in Las Vegas, Apple is quietly rolling out vacation date block outs between February 3rd and February 6th, a source confirmed with BGR today. Something big will likely be launch on the 3rd, a Thursday, and unless Apple has a big surprise up their sleeves (which is never out of the question with Apple) it is likely that we will have a Verizon iPhone launch on that day. Can you hear me now? Not yet, but soon….
