It wouldn't be an Apple launch without unsubstantiated rumors and concept videos

iOS 7 is rumored to be doing many things. First, it’s rumored to be launched in June. It’s rumored to be flatter much like the Windows Phone interface. It’s rumored to be able to predict earthquakes up to a day ahead of time. Okay, so we made the last one up, but it’s not far off from the types of rumors that seem to surround everything that comes out of Cupertino, even something fairly insignificant like the iOS 7 release. The thing that makes it so important, perhaps more important than previous releases, is that they’re coming off an embarrassment with their last operating system release due to the…

Marissa Mayer

Marissa Mayer's first big mistake at Yahoo is a ludicrous one for a tech company

There were many things broken at Yahoo when Marissa Mayer first took over as CEO. She has moved the company forward, consolidated vision, and set the company on a better course than its seen in years. We’ve been very positive about her decisions to date. The most recent one is idiotic. It’s the type of move that offers little potential benefit while risking a potential backwards step in the progress that has been made so far. The idea of “Physically Together” is this: an office environment is the best place for every single employee at Yahoo. As of June, all of the hundreds of remote employees will be…

14-year-old gets father to pay her $200 to take 6-month break from Facebook

If you’re going to give up something that you really enjoy, you might as well get paid for it. That was the mentality of a 14-year-old girl who wanted to focus on “getting a job and working harder at school” when she asked her father to draft a different sort of contract. The agreement, shown above, was that she would get off of Facebook for 6 months in exchange for cold hard cash. According to Buzzfeed: Paul Baier, a vice president for Boston energy firm Groom Energy Solutions, drafted up a legal agreement for his 14-year-old daughter Rachel. The contract agrees to award Rachel $200 if she can stay off…

Trending: Apple’s worldwide developers conference

I don’t know about anyone else, but I think Apple has a huge “underground” stronghold on social media – and they don’t pay a damn thing for it. Apple for some reason or another has an unparalleled ever surrounding hype about itself that just attracts everyone in the technology era. Especially now with the Worldwide Developers Conference coming up the second week in June, I am seeing an increasingly steady trend of Apple product rumors. As a social media marketer, it is unbelievable to me that Apple is able to have users do it on their own for them. That is part of why Apple is as successful…

Apple to Ship iPhone 4G in Early June

Apple to Ship iPhone 4G in Early June

We have lift-off. After months of drooling over leaked prototype photos and speculating on what the new features will be, Boy Genius Report reported today that the new iPhone 4G will launch and be ready for purchase in early June. July was its expected arrival date prior to the announcement. Many iPhone hopefuls have been eagerly awaiting the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 7 to find out the dates for the launch and to find out more about iPhone 4. Early projections are showing that Apple is expected to shift 24 million units of the iPhone 4G before the end of the year. Source: 9to5Mac, BGR…
