Nike + GPS app might actually get you moving

Nike + GPS app might actually get you moving

Almost every time gets a new iDevice, they download LOTS of apps, especially fitness ones. They see apps that will supposedly make them marathoners within weeks, and during the first day, they exercise really hard. The next day becomes a rest one, and on the third day, the apps goes to rest for good. But Nike + GPS (1.99) will actually keep you running and having a good time. First off, let me explain what this app does. Instead of needing a sensor in your shoe like the app that came free when you got your device, this app simply uses your GPS in your iPhone. Even though the app is compatible with iPod Touch,…

Nike's DeLorean Shoes Are a Total Magnet for BttF Jokes

This is heavy, guys. Okay, um, where to begin… – The way I see it, if you’re gonna build a time machine into a pair of shoes, why not do it with some style? – If my calculations are correct, when these babies hit eighty-eight miles per hour… you’re gonna see some serious shit. – Sidewalks? Where we’re going, we don’t need sidewalks. Wow, this is actually a million times harder than I thought. I’m just gonna leave it. I’m sure there’s an auto-lacing shoe joke in there somewhere, but these don’t do that. They still look fly as all hell, though. Maybe even… McFly? Yeah? Yeah? No? Never mind. The box even…

Insert Classless Joke About

Insert Classless Joke About 'Computers' and 'Running'

Gabriel Dishaw knows what beef is. Culling tech refuse for old circuit boards, processors, and other obsolete throw-away-ables, Gabe recombobulates them into – what else? – shoes. There’s really not much to say about these that you can’t already divine from these photographs, including but not limited to the fact that Dishaw has chosen an extremely odd artistic fixation, if a rad one. You’re currently looking at the ‘Junk Dunk’. Cute. In all seriousness, I’d totally rock a pair of these. Comfort schmomfort, am I right, people? It’s the price we pay for totally pimp kicks. Apparently, though,…

Now Nike's Heart Is Really In It

Nike is finally announcing an addition to the Nike+ fitness add-on for iPods, a heart rate monitor. The news appears in a Nike+ forum thread. The launch date is June 1st, with a Canadian release later in June and international release set for the summer. No details on price or compatibility yet, but this is promising news for hardware that has been in discussion since last September. The Nike+ accessories work by placing a sensor in a slot under the sole of your Nike shoes and a receiver plugged into your iPod or iPhone. As you run, your iPod shows information about your workout, or selects songs based…

Nike Renders Tap Shoes Totally Obsolete

Nike Renders Tap Shoes Totally Obsolete

Nike’s Free Run+ is a really, really flexible shoe, and the athletics giant has taken great pains to prove this by commissioning Japanese DJs hifana to transform the shoe into an electronic instrument. This video is the result. Enjoy. [Via DesignBoom]…

Super Mario Kicks Will Feel Awesome (Until You Get Jacked)

Super Mario Kicks Will Feel Awesome (Until You Get Jacked)

If you are at all familiar with the early nineteen-nineties, then you know that kids really liked three things: Super Mario; cool sneakers; and rolling other kids for their stuff. Well now, in a rather stylish nostalgic mash-up, you can relive the time and crime you may or may not  have ever experienced with these spiffy Super Mario sneakers. Nike has created these custom shoes featuring everyone’s favorite Italian plumber (who, for some reason, looks rather angry, right?). Rather than using a pixelated Mario or the design from, say, Super Mario Galaxy, these kicks have a nice meta touch and…
