No iPad Tethering For iPhone

AT&T’s new 3G data plans have led some people to question whether this could mean tethering for iPads. The answer? Still a firm no, although AT&T says it’s really an Apple issue. It seemed logical to me from day one that the iPad would be a device you could carry around with you and access the web at will, but for iPhone users the added value would be the option to tether. To this day, the only way to tether an iPad to an iPhone is through jailbreaking. Of course, the iPad has only been on sale for 60 days, and iPhone OS 4.0 is coming soon, and the new iPhone 4G is due out on Monday, so nothing is ever certain….

Attention US iPhone users — it looks like AT&T and Apple are at last making good on their long-held promise to offer tethering support through the iPhone, but not until the release of iPhone OS 4.0 later this summer.
