Thanks technology for helping make a video for Emily

Thanks technology for helping make a video for Emily

Wow, if you have yet to see this teenage boy profess his love for some girl named Emily, you need to watch it and then watch it again. At first, if you are honest, it makes you want to laugh as he quietly sings “Everything I Do, I Do for You”, sung originally by Canadian singer, Bryan Adams, and as the transitions oddly switch, you may throw a chuckle or two with a possible snort. But as the video progresses and you get past the electric “pretend playing” guitar, you will see just how much this little boy cares for a girl. You will suddenly remember being that age and feeling what he feels, since at one…

This video is going to make you hungry

This is how to use an auto tuned app the right way, not to mention the fact that he is giving an amazingly creative review for 5 Guys cheeseburgers. But I digress. …

Social media and the “ironic” hit

Social media and the “ironic” hit

Social media has clearly permeated out lives so much that it is now influencing the other media that we consume. This is extremely clear in the world of music. I see the songs popping up on my Facebook news ticker and it seems like my entire friends list is listening to the same songs. For the most part people have always listened to very similar music, but more and more I am seeing an increasing trend of the “ironic” hit. I don’t know if this is a new phenomenon, but I first noticed it with the rise in popularity of Rebecca Black’s song Friday. We all know and love (or hate) it. The song features timeless…

YouTube expands its exclusive-content drive with 100 new video channels

Original content is the cornerstone of most content channels, but YouTube has been conspicuous over the years as a place for finding unoriginal content. Much of the site is absolutely unique, but there has always been a strong lean towards posting content that originally appeared elsewhere. Google’s push to change this hit a tipping point yesterday as they announced plans to add 100 more channels of unique content to their lineup. Celebrities, news publications, and brands were amongst the channels being created. Name such as Reuters, Jay-Z, and The Onion were amongst the list of those receiving…

For 22 minutes, kids around the world were greeted with a surprise when they went to the Sesame Street YouTube channel, and it wasn’t the kind of surprise that Elmo would have approved. The name on the account was changed to MrEdxwx, a YouTube user who has since responded with a video saying that he wasn’t responsible. His channel has been hit with hundreds of comments ranging from admiration to death threats. Here’s…

"As Seen On" YouTube pages promotes those who promote YouTube

When you’re hold the attention of hundreds of millions of users, it’s good to “give back” every now and then. YouTube is doing just that with their new “As Seen On” pages that are designed to “celebrate content curators,” specifically large blogs and other sites that embed YouTube videos and drive views to them regularly. The intention is not only to promote those who are sending views to videos and traffic to the site, but also to “connect those conversations around the web” surrounding videos to add context and bring better understanding and commentary to the medium as a whole. The service crawls…

YouTube allows their logo to be removed, adds HD preview image

YouTube announced a couple of moves that will make users happier. First, they are allowing HD preview images to be used on high-quality videos of 480p of higher. As they stated in their blog, people often decide whether or not to click through on a video based upon what they see in the preview image. As you can below, the differences are clear. The other change they made was to allow users to remove the YouTube logo from the bottom right of the video. Instead, the “modest” branding can be found when you hover over the title. It can now come in the form of a text variation of their name. At the end of the video…
