Rhapsody has come out with an updated version of their App for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
The application is free to download onto your device but you must have a subscription to use it. With this new version you can listen to the Rhapsody playlist that you have created while being connected to the Internet and also download songs to local storage.
This means that you can listen to your music while being in such places as an elevator or subway that has no Internet access. This is a first for Apple to allow a third-party music subscription to allow songs to be downloaded in the U.S. They have a music selection of over 9 million songs from you to choose from.
Microsoft’s Zune MarketPlace has a comparable service except that you must pay for each song that you download. Lame!
Rhapsody allows customers to choose from two different services. One is called Rhapsody Premier and the other is Rhapsody Premier Plus. The original price was $10 each month and included access on one cellular device while the other one was prices at $14.99 each month and allowed access on three different cellular devices.
This looks like is it going to be the next step for purchasing music from online stores.
