After years of using the Ascend brand for it’s consumer mobile products resulting in 65 devices only in our database, it appears that Huawei has chosen to drop it for future products. The Ascend Mate7 flagship phablet may be the last to carry the historic badge. Instead, Huawei is opting for a more distinguishable naming convention, featuring the company’s increasingly reputable name and a letter-number combination.
