Has it really only been 17 years? Apparently, Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel had no idea what the Internet was, or even for certain what “@” meant.
We can watch this video and laugh now, but this thing that seems to have engulfed many of our lives was a mystery to most less than 2 decades ago. Just goes to show how rapidly technology is changing our world.
What big, obscure mystery today will be commonplace in a couple of decades?
Great find! Wouldn’t be surprising if 17 years from now Internet would be something primitive and we will have something a lot more advanced.. 17 years .. well wait may be 7 years from now 
While it is amusing to hear them talking about the Internet then, you’re right, what head-scratchers for us now will be common place nearly twenty years from now. I’m sure we’ll adjust fine. Even may parents are pretty “hip” on technology now.
