17 Years Ago, "What is 'Internet'?" Was Asked on The Today Show

Has it really only been 17 years? Apparently, Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel had no idea what the Internet was, or even for certain what “@” meant.

We can watch this video and laugh now, but this thing that seems to have engulfed many of our lives was a mystery to most less than 2 decades ago. Just goes to show how rapidly technology is changing our world.

What big, obscure mystery today will be commonplace in a couple of decades?

Great find! Wouldn’t be surprising if 17 years from now Internet would be something primitive and we will have something a lot more advanced.. 17 years .. well wait may be 7 years from now :P

While it is amusing to hear them talking about the Internet then, you’re right, what head-scratchers for us now will be common place nearly twenty years from now. I’m sure we’ll adjust fine. Even may parents are pretty “hip” on technology now.
