Life’s about to be good for LG’s smartwatch display supply business. The Korea Herald reports that Apple plans to tap LG Display as its main display supplier for its upcoming iWatch accessory that will likely be released next year. As for Samsung, one of The Korea Herald’s sources indicated that the company is actually not interested in making displays for the iWatch because “Samsung is using OLED to give a special ‘Samsung flavor’ to its devices, so opening up to other customers does not make sense.” In other words, it sounds as though Samsung doesn’t want Apple to benefit from all the hard work that it’s done developing the overwhelming triumph that is the Galaxy Gear.
