1 min read

You may recall that in mid-May South Korean maker LG announced three new slates, part of its G Pad Android lineup. At the time details were scarce, as only the display size was revealed alongside the availability of branded software add-ons like Knock Code and QPair. Today, LG announces the roll-out of the G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1, with the 7.0 being the first to hit store shelves, in Europe, this week. The two other slates will be available starting in the next couple of weeks. Its new devices “offer just the right balance of performance, personality and price to fill the gap between entry and premium tablets”, according to LG.

The trio of G Pads we heard about last month are about to touch down in a shop near you. LG has announced that the G Pad 7.0 will be launching in Europe this week, with the G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 following over the next several weeks. LG seems to be trying to cater to every corner of the market in one fell swoop here, with the G Pad 7.0 providing optimum mobility, the G Pad 10.1 delivering an media-focussed experience and the G Pad 8.0 slotting in the middle. All three slates have 1.2GHz quad-core processors, 1GB of RAM and 1280 x 800 True IPS HD displays, along with microSD slots and 1.3MP front facing cameras. There are some differences in specs though. The G Pad 7.0 has a 4000mAh battery, 8GB of built in storage and a 3MP main camera. The G Pad 8.0 has a 4200mAh battery, 16GB of built in storage and a 5MP rear snapper and the G Pad 10.1 has an 8000mAh battery, 16GB of memory and a 5MP rear camera. The G Pad 10.1 is also the slimmest but heaviest of the three, coming in at 8.9mm and 523g, while at the other end of the scale the G Pad 7.0 is 10.1mm and 293g.
