Apple is already producing the iPhone 6S and it has Force Touch

59 sec read

Force Touch is one of the most interesting technologies that Apple has introduced in recent years, one which allows devices to simulate the feel of a button. First showed off back in May, many people are expecting Apple to implement this new technology in the next iPhone, and if a recent report from Bloomberg is to be believed, the company has already started production of the iPhone 6S which will indeed be equipped with Force Touch.

Back in May Apple showed off Force Touch, a surface of pressure-sensitive mini electrodes that can imitate the feel of a button, on its Macbook’s trackpad. The Apple Watch also features the same technology on its screen. Ever since, there’s been speculation if the latest iPhone would be equipped with Force Touch. According to Bloomberg’s anonymous source, the iPhone 6S is already being manufactured by Apple’s suppliers in Asia and production is expected to step into high gear in July. Force Touch technology will be present across the screen of the upcoming iPhone, which will offer the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays as the current iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, respectively. Depending on how hard you apply pressure with your finger, you could carry out a multitude of actions in apps. Force Touch then responds with haptic feedback — a slight tap — when picking up the increased pressure. For instance, Force Touch on the Apple Watch allows the user to bring up a range of new controls on the Messages and Music apps. Bloomberg’s source also reports that the iPhone 6S will have the same exterior design as its predecessor, the iPhone 6, which is the tradition of Apple’s S model iPhones.
