Back in June, Android 4.4 KitKat had experienced a rise in its distribution stats by a little over 5% from May. It’s a pretty impressive growth rate, considering that the month before that, KitKat distribution only grew by 3.2%. However it seems that for the month of June, it looks like KitKat might not have grown as much. This is according to the latest figures released by Google based on data collected in a 7-day period ending 7th July, which shows that Android 4.4 KitKat is currently sitting at a 17.9% distribution. This is an increase from before where it was sitting at 13.6%, but the increase of 4.3% is slightly less than the 5.1% from before. We’re not sure why there might be a slowdown in KitKat adoption, but perhaps users are busy trying to flash the Android L developer preview on their phones.
