The reprisal of Lara Croft in World of Tanks has raised more wrath than applause in fans. Although the crossover event with Duke Nukem might seem like a cool idea in theory people think that it is just another form of distraction from the real issue which is the presence of a new game about Tomb Raider.

Lara has established herself in other names in recent times in points as diverse as fall guys and hero wars to call of duty. However, these cameos are becoming stale and fans are disappointed. They have been years waiting for Lara to come back in her full-fledged game and not as a guest in another game. Many termed the tank crossover as absurd and claimed that now it is time for her to come back to the center stage and perform with a proper story and game centered on her.

One fan resorted to a smart summary,

This tweet is indicative of a trend taking place within the web; folks want Tombs Raider, but they do not want to see Lara showing up in any number of fortune places. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was the most serious game in the mainline that players had to buy in 2018. It is a long wait, especially considering that the last official announcements on this were the news about a new title at Amazon and Crystal Dynamics in 2022, but there have been no teasers, no trailers and no actual information since then.

All that fans can know is that it will be a story-driven game, single-player but the rest is unknown. And now three years have passed, yet there is nothing to show. No wonder enthusiasm is becoming dead.
Although Amazon Games has assured high expectations of the next Tomb Raider, the silence is not helping the matter. Every new cameo makes the fans more impatient. They do not desire Lara Croft to be a gimmick. They miss the adventurous Indiana Jones who solves puzzles and escapes old tombs. Until then, no number of tank battles and crossovers will be sufficient to please the old players.

“A cookbook, a trash Netflix show, an infinite number of undesirable crossovers and now a tank. Goodness, sake.”

Lara Croft from “Tomb Raider” and Duke Nukem joined the new “World of Tanks” crossover as the newest characters. The limited-time event was announced on July 7, and it brings in two exclusive Battle Pass chapters, both dedicated to each of the distinct personality traits of the chosen characters.
