As if waving your smartphone over a contactless reader wasn’t easy enough, Google is developing a new mobile payments system that doesn’t even require you to take your phone out of your pocket. Known as Hands Free, Google announced the app through a blog post on Tuesday, and has started testing it out in the South Bay region of San Francisco. Using the app is as simple as giving a cashier your initials, assuming the store supports Hands Free, because the app uses identification and location services to handle the payment authorization automatically, so you don’t need to do anything.
