Apple on Wednesday issued to developers a batch of new betas for the upcoming OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks maintenance update and Safari 6.1.5 with minor changes. The latest OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks build 13E16 comes two weeks after the first beta was released at the end of May. Mirroring the OS X 10.9.3 betas, Apple asks developers to focus on Graphics Drivers and Safari, but adds in extra areas of interest in Bluetooth, Audio Drivers, Finder and the App Store. In the previous seed of Apple’s upcoming Mavericks maintenance update, product identifiers pointing to unknown iMac models were discovered in code regarding power management utilities.

Although Apple-watchers have been buzzing about OS X 10.10 Yosemite since last week’s WWDC, Apple hasn’t forgotten about its current generation Mavericks Mac OS. To prove it, the company has released three new betas for developers to test out — including OS X Mavericks 10.9.4, OS X Server 3.2, and Safari 6.1.5. Provided you have access to a developer account, all three can currently be downloaded from the Mac App Store. Each one brings “minor improvements” to Apple’s software, with the Safari 6.1.5 beta release accompanied by notes asking developers to focus on “general website compatibility and extension compatibility.” The OS X Server 3.2 beta meanwhile adds support for OS X 10.9.4. It is possible that this will be the final beta for OS X 10.9.4, since OS X 10.10 Yosemite is expected to arrive this fall — bringing a massive update to Apple’s existing Mac OS, with new features including iCloud Drive, Handoff, and iPhone and SMS messages on your Mac. Like Mavericks, Yosemite will be free to download.
