The country has been one of the last to keep outside funds from flowing in and Google hopes to be one of the first to be embraced in this virgin market. This could be one of the reasons that the company is apparently very supportive of Hillary Clinton’s White House bid according to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
A Google executive is headed to Cuba this weekend to explore bringing better Internet access to the island, and the search giant has made a related proposal to the Cuban government, according to a State Department official.
