Microsoft promised that it would put much more focus on gaming with its newest operating system, and that’s a promise that the company seems intent to keep. As of Monday, Xbox One Preview members can stream games from their Xbox One to their PC through the Xbox app on Windows 10, with most games being supported. This means that you can play games from your PC regardless of the device’s hardware limitations, and that includes multiplayer.

Microsoft first teased its plans for streaming Xbox One games to Windows 10 PCs back in January. We got an early look at the feature nearly two months ago, and Microsoft is ready to let people test it today. The feature is part of a new Xbox app for Windows 10, and it simply lets you remote control an Xbox One console. It’s designed to be used on a local network and for someone to play an Xbox One game on a Windows 10 laptop in another room. That does mean you can’t watch Netflix or TV on the Xbox One and have someone remotely play games in another room all at the same time. The game streaming to Windows 10 is available now for Xbox One Preview members, and most games are supported. Microsoft says that Kinect titles and games requiring special hardware not supported on a PC won’t work, but everything else should be able to stream just fine. Multiplayer and voice chat via the Xbox One will also be supported while you’re streaming a game, so you can use a Windows-compatible microphone or headset to chat to Xbox Live friends from your Windows 10 PC or laptop.
