Tumblr finally has search that doesn’t suck

Hashtags were made for grouping common thoughts together and to aid with search, not to be the sole method of searching a website. Tumblr didn’t know that before, but their new search functionality expands beyond the hashtag and actually modernizes their service beyond many of their competitors.

Yahoo-owned microblogging platform Tumblr on Thursday announced it has revamped its search feature from “front to back” to make it easier for you to explore posts.

The new search feature, in development for the last few months, lets you use multiple hashtags in a single query. For instance, you can now search for “#hello kitty #nail art,” the Tumblr team wrote in a post.
