Motorola DROIDs undergo soak test

25 sec read

Motorola has started to test upcoming software updates by carrying out a soak test. The installation process of the software is limited to just a tiny number of units, and even then, it is by invitation only. This is not due to a discriminatory process, but rather, Motorola most probably wants to limit the number of handsets which might actually end up bricked if things go awry.

Attention, owners of the Verizon Motorola Droid Ultra, Droid Mini and Droid Maxx: Motorola has just sent out invites for a software “soak test” for the trio of devices. Nothing definite, but that could well mean Android 4.4 KitKat is on its way. (Or it could be a lesser version. We’ve got our fingers crossed.)
