Google Play Music has finally made its way to the iPad

44 sec read

Google brought its Play Music app to the iPhone quite a while ago but hasn’t done so for the iPad until this week. The service essentially acts as a hybrid of iTunes and Spotify with users being able to purchase their songs from Google’s store and add their own files from their computer, just like iTunes, as well as a subscription-based fature that allows users to stream any song they want, just like Spotify.

Google’s Play Music app has been available for iPhone for a while, but today’s update brings it to iPad users at long last. The latest version also brings a new Material Design interface along with other visual improvements and fixes for faster and more reliable streaming. As with previous versions, Google Play Music lets users listen to tracks stored on their devices as well as up to 20,000 of their own songs stashed in the cloud — including iTunes libraries. With an unlimited plan, you can stream any song from the Play Music library and create custom radio stations based on your favorite artists or albums. However, iOS users can’t subscribe to the All Access plan through the mobile apps; they’ll have to use an Android device or a browser to sign up.
