There will be two versions of the OnePlus Two

The OnePlus Two is easily on of the most anticipated smartphones of the year, but we still know next to nothing about it aside from a few rumors other than that it won’t be released until much later in the year. However, a new report from Bloomberg suggests that the device will come in two versions, a premium version which will be more expensive than the OnePlus One was and a budget version that will be cheaper.

The OnePlus 2 is one of the most anticipated devices of 2015, but it may not be the only new phone coming from the company this year. A new report from Bloomberg suggest the Chinese firm could also be working on a cheaper option as well. Bloomberg reporter Rosalind Chin claims that the OnePlus 2 is set to launch in the third quarter of 2015, adding that a budget-friendly alternative is “due for release by the end of the year.” It’s unclear who at OnePlus confirmed the news, but the fact that the entire thing is revealed in a video filmed at the phone maker’s Chinese headquarters suggests this may be more than just a rumor. The OnePlus 2 is expected to feature a similar design to the flagship One, while adding an updated processor, a 5.5-inch 2K display, and a bigger battery according to one recent report. We’ve also heard rumors that the new phone could feature a high-tech biometric scanner, potentially driving up the price compared to last year’s model. If that’s the case, it makes sense for the company to offer a cheaper option as well. Maybe a OnePlus One Mini?
