Although many consumers have acquired a taste for big smartphones and phablets over the last few years, a significant chunk of Americans still prefer smaller handsets. According to a recent survey, which conveniently coincides with rumors that Apple intends to release a 4-inch smartphone next year, more than 20% of consumers in the United States prefer 4-inch handsets to larger smartphones that currently dominate the market. That being said, 31.2% of them prefer the 4.7-inch iPhone, while 27.2% prefer the 5.5-inch iPhone Plus, which means that the vast majority still prefer larger devices, but there’s definitely consumer interest in 4-inch smartphones.
