The deal
By using TECHi (the website at techi.com, the apps if we ever ship them, and any TECHi service you sign in to), you’re agreeing to what’s on this page. If you don’t agree with any of it, please don’t use the site.
These terms are between you and TECHi Media LLC. Where this page says “we,” that’s us; “you” is whoever’s reading the screen.
Who can have an account
You need to be at least 16 to make a TECHi account. To subscribe to a paid analyst, you need to be 18 — paying for stuff requires the legal capacity to enter a contract.
One person, one account. Don’t share logins. If we believe an account is shared between multiple people, we may suspend it.
We can refuse new sign-ups or close existing accounts at our discretion, mostly for the obvious reasons (impersonation, spam, abuse, fraud). When we do, we’ll explain why unless explaining would tip off bad actors.
What you post
Comments, two-take responses, analyst reports, applications, watchlist names — anything you submit while logged in is yours. You keep the copyright.
What you give us is permission to use it: a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display your content on TECHi, archive it, and (for comments and reports) include it in newsletter digests or social-media posts that promote your contribution. The licence ends when you delete the content, with one carve-out: anything we’ve already shown in a newsletter or social post stays archived where it was sent.
Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to post. If we receive a credible takedown notice, we’ll honour it.
What you can’t do
Most of these are common sense. We’re writing them down so there’s no confusion when we have to enforce them.
- No automated scraping. You can read TECHi with your eyes and your browser. You can’t hit the API or pages with a bot to bulk- harvest content. If you’re building a research tool and want a feed, email us.
- No reverse-engineering. Don’t try to extract source code, private API endpoints, or proprietary models from the site.
- No impersonating other people. Especially not financial advisors, regulators, or TECHi staff.
- No market manipulation. Don’t use TECHi to coordinate pump-and-dumps, post material non-public information, or otherwise commit securities fraud. If we even suspect it, we’ll cooperate fully with regulators.
- No spam, harassment, hate speech, or doxxing. See our comments policy for the long form.
Paid subscriptions
If you subscribe to a TECHi analyst or to a TECHi premium tier, here’s how billing works:
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you picked) until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period — we don’t pro-rate refunds for partial months.
- We use Stripefor payments. Your card data never touches our servers. Stripe’s terms also apply to the card-handling part.
- If a charge fails, we’ll retry up to four times across two weeks before suspending access. You’ll get an email each time.
- We can change pricing on new sign-ups any time. For existing subscribers, we’ll give 30 days’ notice before a price increase takes effect and you can cancel before it does.
TECHi is journalism, not investment advice
This is the most important paragraph on this page so we’re going to say it plainly:
Nothing on TECHi — not articles, not analyst reports, not stock scores, not the discussion forums — constitutes investment advice, financial advice, tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
We report on companies and markets. The analysts we publish are journalists writing in good faith about what they think; their reports are commentary, not personalised guidance. Decisions about your money are decisions you make on your own (or with a registered investment advisor licensed to give actual advice in your jurisdiction).
Markets fluctuate. Past performance never guarantees future returns. Some of our analysts hold positions in the securities they cover — those holdings are disclosed at the bottom of their reports. Read the disclosures.
The site is provided "as is"
We try hard to keep TECHi accurate, fast, and online. But we don’t guarantee it — the site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Live market data shows up here best-effort and may be delayed, missing, or wrong. If you spot something wrong, our corrections policy tells you how to flag it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TECHi Media LLC, its directors, employees, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site — including lost profits, lost trading opportunities, or damages flowing from any decision you made based on what you read here.
Our total liability for any direct claim, no matter the legal theory, is capped at the amount you paid TECHi in the 12 months before the claim arose — or $100, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow this kind of limitation, in which case the limit applies to the maximum extent local law allows.
Indemnity
If you breach these terms in a way that causes a third party to sue us — for example, posting copyrighted content you didn’t have rights to, or defaming someone in a comment — you agree to cover our reasonable legal costs and any damages awarded.
Closing accounts
You can close your account any time from Settings → Delete account. See the privacy policy for what happens to your data after you do.
We can suspend or close your account if you breach these terms or the comments policy. For minor breaches we warn first; for serious ones (fraud, harassment, market manipulation) we close immediately.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything material, we’ll email everyone with an account at least 14 days before the change applies. Continued use of TECHi after the effective date means you accept the change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without reference to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can’t be resolved by writing to info@techi.com first will be heard in the state or federal courts of Wyoming. We’d rather not get there. If you have a problem, please tell us before you tell a court — we usually fix it.
