Great news OnePlus One owners, we now have an official release date for when Android 5.0 Lollipop will be coming to the smartphone. Updates that will bring either CyanogenMod 12S or the first official release of the OxygenOS that OnePlus has been working on will be released sometime before March 30. OnePlus is so confident that it’ll meet this release date, in fact, that it promised five 64GB OnePlus Ones to fans that reply to the announcement thread in the event that it misses the release date.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the early builds of Android 5.0 Lollipop on the OnePlus One, fret not: the official release is just around the corner. OnePlus recently revealed the release dates for Android 5.0 Lollipop for both its OxygenOs and CyanogenMod 12S versions of the smartphone. OnePlus said owners of the CyanogenMod 12S version of the OnePlus One should expect the Android 5.0 Lollipop update over-the-air sometime before March 30, just two weeks from now. That suggests that the company is going to be rolling out the update slowly, likely to make sure the process is as smooth as possible for end users. The OxygenOS version of the OnePlus One will roll out “on or before March 27,” the company said. Also, you can actually expect these updates to hit without any delay. OnePlus says it’s dead serious about its roll out and promises that, if it misses either one of the releases, it will give away five 64GB OnePlus One units to fans that reply to the announcement thread (included in the source below). “It’s our little way of saying thank you for being patient and for joining us on our journey to create amazing, user-driven experiences,” OnePlus said.
