While we were waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the Xiaomi Mi5 to get an official announcement, Huawei has released yet another enticing flagship that will further solidify its position as China’s top smartphone manufacturer. Known as the Huawei Mate 8, this 6-inch behemoth comes with Huawei’s own next-generation Kirin 950 chipset, as well as 4GB of RAM and all the bells and whistles that one would expect from a flagshup smartphone.

The Huawei Mate 8 has arrived.  The company’s most advanced mobile phone makes waves upon its debut with impressive features that hopefully will launch a successful phablet run. While the manufacturer has launched a number of smartphones, this latest device is arguably one of Huawei’s most ambitious yet.  According to a report from GSM Arena, the Huawei Mate 8 will drop with the firm’s latest Kirin 950 SoC with octa-core CPU and Mali T880MP4 GPU. This new chipset has been discussed thoroughly by the mobile phone circuit, with its four high-power Cortex-A72 cores that clocks up to 2.3 GHz plus four power-saving Cortex-A53 cores at 1.8 GHz. Backed by this chipset, the Huawei Mate 8 features a six-inch FHD IPS display and a body crafted with aerospace-grade aluminium and 2.5D curved diamond cut glass. It’s equipped with Sony’s latest IMX298 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front snapper, a fingerprint sensor and an adequate 4,000 mAh battery cell.
