We have recently heard rumors that Sony could be planning a smaller version of their flagship handset, the Xperia Z2, in the form of the Xperia Z2 Compact. Such a device was spotted at the FCC not too long ago but now thanks to a leaked brochure, it has been revealed that the device in question might not be launched as the Xperia Z2 Compact, but rather the Xperia A2 which is something else entirely.

The ‘mini’ version of the Sony Xperia Z2 is expected to break cover sometime soon according to numerous leaks over the past few weeks. And a new leaked Sony brochure has now revealed the design and dimensions of this upcoming smartphone. As it turns out, this handset will be known as the Xperia A2 and not the Xperia Z2 Compact as most of us would have imagined. The handset is expected to feature a Snapdragon 800 or 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 4.3 inch 720p display possibly with Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone will be reportedly available in Grey Black, White, Lavender and Orange color combinations. It is said that the back will be made of plastic and will most likely be water resistant much like its bigger sibling.
