When it comes to smartphone market share, iOS and Android are currently the two most dominating platforms. Windows Phone and BlackBerry are a distant third and fourth, but it seems that Microsoft has pretty high hopes for its Windows Phone platform. According to a report by MobileNewsCWP, they interviewed Leila Martine, the Windows Phone UK director, who revealed Microsoft’s ambitious plans. According to Martine, they are hoping to overtake Apple in the enterprise market and double their market share in the consumer market as soon as 2015. As it stands, Nokia, which is now officially owned by Microsoft, has a market share of 18% in the enterprise market in the UK. Doubling that would effectively give Microsoft a 36% market share, which puts them ahead of Apple who has a 35% market share at the moment.
