As one of the most recognizable names in the smart home market, it’s easy to forget that Nest only has two products. However, the Google-owned company will be holding a big event in a couple of weeks, and many people are expecting Nest to announce some new products.

Nest is holding an event on Wednesday, June 17th, when we may hear about new products in the first substantial way since Google bought the company just over a year ago. Nest isn’t providing any hints about what we’re going to see, though there’s been some recent suggestion that it could be moving into audio. So far, there are only two Nest products: a thermostat and a smoke detector. Nest also purchased Dropcam, bringing security cameras into the fold as a third category, but that still gives the company a very limited smart home setup. Even so, Nest is rightly credited with making the smart home market exciting and accessible in recent years, and so it’s going to be interesting to see what it’s planning next.
