Nintendo, having announced their Amiibo interactive figures a few days ago, did not mention just how much you would have to fork out in order to bring one of these puppies home. Of course, we all know that sooner or later, something has got to give, and it is without further ado that we bring you the latest word by none other than the President of Nintendo America, Reggie Fils-Aime, who happened to spill the beans over to the Seattle Times when he was sharing more about the recently revealed toys. Reggie said, “You can expect them to be comparable to the Disney and Skylander products that are on the market.”

Nintendo has revealed the approximate cost of the forthcoming NFC Amiibo figures. President of Nintendo America, Reggie Fils-Aime, was speaking to the Seattle Times about the newly revealed toys. “You can expect them to be comparable to the Disney and Skylander products that are on the market.” In the UK, Skylanders range from £5-15 while Disney Infinity figures are around £10. Fils-Aime goes on to discuss his hopes for Amiibo to emulate the success of other NFC games. “We certainly hope [that Amiibo can match the sales of Skylanders]. There’s three things that we see that make this different, hopefully stronger than the current propositions. “First, that it’s Nintendo IP. Secondly, the ability for these to work across multiple games. We think that’s going to be a huge driver – having these figures work with Mario Kart 8, work with Mario Party, work with Yoshi’s Wooly World. We think that’s a huge step forward for this space. “The third aspect is that we do believe our Amiibo figures are going to have a wider demographic footprint. We think we’re going to have much stronger girl appeal. We think we’re going to have strong young adult play because of the collectability. For those three reasons we’ve got the potential to be bigger than what’s been out in the space so far.”
