Samsung will cease using its own Korean-language word-processing program called JungUm Global for creating its company documents. The company said Microsoft Office Word is the most adequate word-processing program in the market for creating a “smart” working environment. The move follows a recent business meeting between Samsung vice chairman and heir-apparent Jay Lee and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, though company spokespersons denied any connection with that meeting and the change. The Suwon, Korea-based conglomerate began using Microsoft Word in January this year, and will use JungUm Global until the end of the year, when it will be completely dropped for the Microsoft word processor on January 1, 2015.
