According to rumors out of Italy, those of you looking for a large-screened Samsung smartphone won’t have to wait for the Galaxy Note 5. Apparently, the company is working on what’s essentially a larger (5.5-inch) version of the Galaxy S6 Edge, albeit with somewhat weaker specs, which means that it should be more affordable than the notoriously expensive Note series.

Reports have been falling in suggesting Samsung’s long-rumoured Project Zen has been internally renamed Project Zero 2 – the first Project Zero was the Galaxy S6. It looks like it’ll be a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge carrying the model number SM-G928 and packing a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display. The same report suggests it’ll come with a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 32GB of internal storage, a 16MP rear camera and 5MP front facing shooter. Don’t be mistaken, it’s not going to be the next Galaxy Note Edge – there’s no S Pen functionality here and both sides are set to be curved unlike the first version. Initially it was thought Samsung would be waiting until IFA 2015 to announce the new handset alongside the Galaxy Note 5, but it now looks set to launch in the coming weeks.
