In this digital world with AI integrated in just about everything, people have become disconnected from their cultural traditions. Everyone is busy in their daily routine, from the office to home, surrounded by technology that has replaced the original taste of life. To fill your life with traditional colors, Snapchat is back in the market with a new art project. Dansez Versailles offers a unique cultural experience utilizing AR technology. This isn’t your old documentary-style visuals, just looking at old buildings; instead, you interact with history. It brings the Palace Garden’s original vibe because, in the past, it was not just about a street walk, but it was full of performances and dancing.

Previously snapchat has worked a lot to bring historical cultures to life. In 2023, it collaborated with the Louvre Museum in Paris to work on the Egyptian Antiquities section. Their goal was to recreate the damaged parts of the artifacts so that visitors could observe them in 3D style and colors through their phone’s lens. Apart from this, it has also spotlighted the black British history, the Perot Museum (Dallas, 2018), and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

These are not only technology gimmicks, but they also reflect their efforts to connect people with their traditions, even in the 21st century. These projects remind us of something that is missing in this era: the emotional connection to place. Instead of just reading books and scrolling through old historical data, It’s now possible to experience the past firsthand. It redefines what cultural education looks like in the AI era: less textbook, more touch and feel. Moreover, augmented reality allows people to interact with history without disturbing the actual sites, which is a huge plus for both the public and authorities managing historical sites and artifacts. It’s a modern way to protect fragile landmarks while still keeping them alive for future generations.
