The next step in Snapchat’s plan to become a news and entertainment hub, the company is now on the lookout for journalists who can cover the 2016 presidential race. Snapchat started trying to make itself into more than just an ephemeral messaging app with the introduction of the “Discover” feature earlier this year, and has even hired a former CNN employee to lead the company’s new division.

Is that you? An advocate for free expression who isn’t easily offended? You must love politics, news, journalism and be “willing to travel to exotic locales like Iowa, New Hampshire, Ohio and Florida.” Also, have the “ability to remain objective and neutral while evaluating potentially controversial content.” If this is you, then you may want to head over to Snapchat’s careers listings. According to this job posting, the ephemeral messaging startup with a $15 billion valuation is looking for someone to cover the 2016 presidential race for Snapchat. It’s a new direction for Snapchat, as it is joins the ranks of other social media sites in hiring their own quasi-journalists to curate news and produce original content. The new hire would not only be a snap moderator, but also out in the field telling stories via Snapchat. Certainly, it’ll be better than this job.
