The free Windows 10 upgrade won’t apply to enterprise users
T

Remember when Microsoft announced that Windows 10 would be a free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8 users? Well, while that offer still stands for regular customers, enterprise users will still have to fork over cash for the upgrade. The good news is that Microsoft is trying extra hard to ensure that the process is as easy as possible.

Everyone got excited when it was announced at the Windows 10 event that users of Windows 7 and 8 would be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free for one year. Unfortunately, Windows 10 for Enterprise customers won’t be able to partake in all the freeness. Microsoft’s General Manager of security, Jim Alkove wrote in a post about the security of the upcoming Windows 10 for Enterprise: “Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise are not included in the terms of free Windows 10 Upgrade offer we announced last week.”
