The iPhone 6 is undoubtedly one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated gadgets, but what does that actually mean in terms of Apple’s bottom line? Crunching the numbers, Taiwan’s Topology Research Institute predicts that the iPhone 6 will bring in around $80 million by the end of 2014. With most sources suggesting that Apple plans to release both a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6, these devices will likely be going on sale in September — meaning that Apple would be selling an average of $20 million worth of iPhone 6 models for the final four months of the year. Interestingly, the breakdown of these numbers suggest that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be far and away Apple’s biggest earner: accounting for sales figures of $70 million. TRI meanwhile predicts that the 5.5-inch “phablet” iPhone 6 will bring in somewhere between $8 and $10 million during the same timeframe.
