Fallout 4 hasn’t even been released yet and people are already asking about the next game in The Elder Scrolls series. Well, according to Pete Hines, a new Elder Scrolls game won’t be happening for a “very long time.” This isn’t all that surprising considering how massive Bethesda’s RPGs are and how long it’s taken it to develop games in the past, and that’s not a bad thing.

Cool your jets if you’re expecting an Elder Scrolls VI announcement. It’s not going to happen soon. There will be no new Elder Scrolls game reveals in the near to mid-term, according to Bethesda’s number one spokesperson, Pete Hines. Speaking with Dualshockers he said it’s going to be a “very long time” until the publisher talks about anything other than TESO and Fallout 4. Understandable, really. The Elder Scrolls Online was released on PC last year and a few months ago on PS4 and Xbox One. If Bethesda uses the words “Elder” and “Scrolls” it’s going to be in relation to DLC and new content for the MMO. And you may have noticed the rest of the team is busy with something called Fallout 4. According to Hines it’s 100 percent focused on the post-apocalyptic sequel, currently scheduled for a November release.
