Whether it’s to avoid long checkout lines, or just avoid interacting with another human being, many people prefer to use the self-checkout counter when they go shopping, but the machines there can be… less than perfect at times. Often times, they lead to even longer waiting or even more human interaction than a regular checkout line because of how insistent the machines are that no unexpected items be in the bagging area, but Diebold may have found a solution that would eliminate the need for checkout counters entirely.
