Windows 10 is going to feature built-in tech support

I’d like everyone who has ever had a seemingly unsolvable issue with their computer to raise their hand. Good. Now that everyone who has ever owned their computer has their hand up, I’m sure you’ll be pleased to hear that the days of endless Google searches resulting in answers that do little to actually help you are over, as Microsoft is working on a feature for Windows 10 that basically acts as built-in tech support.

If you have ever had an issue with your PC, odds are you likely went to your favorite search engine and started looking for a solution or you called up that tech savvy friend of yours. Microsoft is looking to change this behavior in Windows 10 and we can start to see their new solution coming together. Earlier today, Microsoft released a new build of Windows 10 and with it comes an app called ‘Contact Support’. As the name implies, this is a new channel for searching how to fix your PC or to resolve billing issues. There are three options to choose from after you open the app: My device, Microsoft account and billing, and Microsoft online services. When you click on My Device, you can search the community forums, chat with a Microsoft Answer Tech, or even have Microsoft call you. Conveniently, Microsoft even lists the wait time if you decide to have someone reach out to you. If you are having billing issues, the app directs you to the Microsoft web portal where you can find the correct area to make changes to your subscriptions.
