An estimated 30% of all PCs are running Windows XP, several of which are used by businesses across the globe. Unfortunately, when Microsoft ends support for the operating system on April 8, 2014, XP will become a hacker’s dream. Since Xp will no longer be getting security updates from Microsoft, hackers will be able cause as much mayhem as they want. This is really bad news for the companies that rely on XP for their business.

Is your older computer a ticking time bomb? A new article in PC Pro warns that computers running Windows XP are about to become exactly that, with the operating system’s 2014 support deadline likely to serve as a “starting pistol for hackers.” On April 8, 2014, Microsoft will officially discontinue support for its then 13-year-old Windows XP operating system. Microsoft will continue to offer security updates as needed for Windows 7 and 8.
