Apple has slowly increased the storage capacities of its iPhones but it has yet to surpass offering more than 64GB of storage. That may change soon. A set of iPhone 6 schematics leaked on Chinese social network Weibo suggest that the Cupertino company will offer a 128GB variant of its next flagship phone. The leaked schematics apparently show how Apple is sourcing storage units for the iPhone 6. It looks like Toshiba is taking care of the 128GB modules on its own, while a small handful of companies are pitching in to provide 16GB and 64GB units. There’s no mention of a 32GB flash module, suggesting Apple may still only offer three options.

As some of you might recall, last year there were several rumors and analyst reports concerning iPhone 5S (before its market release, of course) suggesting that Apple will fit 128 GB of storage in its upcoming flagship device. As we all know it didn’t happen, but interestingly enough, a similar rumor is now reoccurring ahead of the iPhone 6′s release. This time around however, there seems to be some harder evidence than last year to support the theory. In a nutshell, the guys over at GeekBar (a phone repair company) reportedly unearthed a new schematic for the iPhone 6, which suggests that the upcoming flagship phone will sport 128 GB of storage. Oddly enough though, the 32 GB model seems to be missing in action. Check out the rest of the story right after the break. According to this new data, the iPhone 6 will be offered in 16, 64 and 128 GB flavors. The 16 GB memory will be provided by Toshiba and Hynix; the 64 GB memory will be supplied by Hynix, Toshiba, and SanDisk; while the beefier 128 GB units will allegedly be delivered by Toshiba alone. Once again, the 32 GB model seems to be missing in action, but this doesn’t necessarily confirm that Apple won’t release one.
