Although the recently-unveiled Huawei Kirin 950 could prove to be a serious competitor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is still going to be the chip that powers the majority of next year’s high-end smartphones. Qualcomm has been teasing bits and pieces of information about the next-generation chip, but the full unveiling will come tomorrow, where Qualcomm will show us everything we can expect.

Tomorrow, Qualcomm will debut the Snapdragon 820 processor, the chip that is likely to handle computing duties in a few top-tier flagship devices in 2016. While many details are still relatively unknown regarding the application processor, one of Qualcomm’s marketing leads states on Twitter that the chip currently meets and even beats OEM thermal requirements, not that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon lineup has ever had overheating issues before. It is reported that the next Galaxy devices from Samsung will run the Snapdragon 820, as well as other devices from HTC and possibly LG. While all of that is just rumor at this point, it is probably a safe bet that the Snapdragon 820 will indeed be fast and more than capable of handling your mobile apps and games. Once the processor is official, we will post all of the details. Fingers crossed for no melted faces.
